India is one of the world's largest producers of black tea. There are a number of different tea growing areas, namely, Assam, Darjeeling, North Bengal and South India.
Assam tea is characteristic of having a fragrant aroma, a spicy, full bodied taste with bright, golden yellow liquor. Given the various intricacies that are involved in the manufacturing process of the raw material, which is the green leaf from the plantations, the teas produced by different gardens display unique characteristics. The total area under cultivation is several hectares. Both the tea estates are located on the south bank of the River Brahmaputra. This region is known as the ‘Quality Belt’ region of Assam.
We focus on producing high quality premium teas in India. We have a large number of quality clones in both the tea estates. This coupled with very strict attention to the minute aspects of manufacturing process enable our tea estates to produce strong, golden liquor that our teas are famous for.
The tea processing factory at Mackeypore Tea Estate has an installed processing capacity of hundreds kilograms of black tea. The factory machineries are fully upgraded and most of the manufacturing processes are automised. Our consistent focus on quality teas is manifested in the prices they command at the tea auction centers and has also earned us the reputation of being one of the top quality tea manufacturers.
